Yang, who had pitched 96 innings this season before the game, became the seventh pitcher in history to reach 100 innings in 10 consecutive seasons with four innings pitched.
Prior to Yang, only six pitchers have pitched 100 innings in 10 consecutive seasons: Chung Sam-hum (1987-1996), Lee Kang-chul (1989-1998), Cho Kye-hyun (1989-1998), Jung Min-chul (1992-2003-2000-2001), Song Jin-woo (1994-2006), and Jang Won-jun (2005-2017-2012-2013 with military service).
Since entering the professional ranks in 2007 as a second-round pick of KIA, Yang has pitched more than 100 innings in every season except 2013, when he tried out for Major League Baseball (MLB).
