The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced the golf courses to host the qualifying round for the 123rd US Open, which will be held from June 15th.
The USGA will conduct the 18-hole first regional qualifier for the US Open, which will be held at the Country Club (CC) North Course in Los Angeles, California, from April 17 to May 22 at 109 courses in 44 states and Canada.
Players who passed the regional안전놀이터 qualifiers will compete in the final 36-hole qualifiers in England (May 16), Japan (May 22), and Canada (June 5). In the U.S., final qualifiers will be held at 10 golf courses on May 22nd and 9 golf courses on June 5th. Player registration will be conducted on the USGA website from the 22nd to Wednesday, April 2nd. To apply as an amateur, the handicap must be less than 1.4.
“The US Open gives thousands of professional and amateur golfers from all backgrounds around the world the opportunity to advance to the championship through regional qualifiers and final qualifiers,” said John Bodenheimer, USGA Championship Executive Director.
According to the USGA, a total of 9,265 people applied for the preliminary round at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts last year, according to the USGA . The 2014 competition, held at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club Course 2 in Pinehurst Village, State, recorded 10,127 applicants.
Ken Venturi won the U.S. Open in 1964 and Orville Moody in 1969 through both regional and final qualifiers. Gene Littler (1961), Julius Boros (1963), Jerry Pate (1976), Steve Jones (1996), Michael Campbell (2005), and Lucas Glover (2009) won the championship after qualifying.
